History

The History curriculum at CSG builds strong substantive knowledge and disciplinary understanding, enabling students to participate in educated discourse and social and political worlds. This curriculum is enquiry-led, accessible, powerful, and diverse.

History explains human behaviour and how societies change or endure. Beyond its academic rigour, it serves as an art form with engaging stories, a domain for moral contemplation, and a source of identity, fostering habits of mind essential for citizenship.

In the pioneering tradition of founder Frances Mary Buss, students learn a coherent chronological narrative of British and world history. This diverse study broadens horizons and transforms perspectives.
