Computing
In Computing, students will develop an understanding and application of the fundamental principles of computers by having the opportunity to write programs, design and produce professional digital products.
Computing skills are a major factor in enabling young people to be confident, creative and independent learners, and it is our intention that students have every opportunity available to allow them to achieve this, including a range of enrichment activities including clubs, competitions and masterclasses.
KS3
We aspire for our students to develop the skills needed to fully embrace a future of rapidly advancing computer technology through engaging topics that are sequenced to build core skills, deepen understanding, and effectively prepare students for Key Stage 4 study.
KS4
Based on the OCR J277 specification, the Key Stage 4 Computing curriculum provides a strong foundation in computer science, aiming to develop computational thinking, enhance problem-solving, and raise awareness of technology's societal impact.

Enrichment opportunities
At present, we offer a KS3 Computing club where students can come for support with their schoolwork but also get to experiment with hardware and software used less frequently within curriculum time. At KS4 there is a supplementary club to support students with their exam preparation. In addition to these weekly clubs, we offer opportunities for students to get involved in several competitions, such as the BEBRAS Challenge and the EDT industrial cadets. We also have close links with the London AI Campus and Opportunity centre, which our students regularly attend to participate in enrichment activities such as Lego robotics, Hackathons and AI workshops.
All students and staff use Google Apps for education, which is accessible both in school and outside school. In addition, all students and staff have access London Grid for Learning (LGFL) apps.
