    Library

    Welcome to the Library

At Camden School for Girls, the library is a welcoming space where students can discover new interests, develop a lifelong love of reading, and find support for their learning.

Our collection includes over 8,000 books and resources, ranging from contemporary fiction and graphic novels to classic literature, history, science, biographies, and study guides.

Whether students are looking for their next great read, researching a project, or simply seeking a quiet place to spend part of their day, the library has something for everyone.

    Opening Hours

The library is open before school, at break and lunchtime, and after school. Students are welcome to visit to read, study, borrow books, receive reading recommendations, or simply enjoy the space.

    Reading for Pleasure

We believe that reading should be enjoyable as well as educational. All students in Years 7 and 8 take part in weekly reading lessons in the library, where the focus is on reading for pleasure. These lessons give students dedicated time to explore books, discover new authors, share recommendations, and develop lifelong reading habits.

    Book Club

Students in Years 7–10 are invited to join our book club, which meets every other week. Book club members read a wide variety of titles, discuss their favourite books, take part in reading-related activities, and help shape the reading culture of the school. New members are always welcome.

    Borrowing Books

Students may borrow up to six books at a time for a three-week period. Books can be renewed if they have not been reserved by another student. The library catalogue can be accessed online, allowing students to search for books, check availability, and explore our collection from home or school.

    Help Us Shape the Library

The library is constantly growing and evolving. If students, parents, or staff have recommendations for books, authors, events, clubs, or activities they would like to see in the library, please get in touch with Ms Kranwinkle. Suggestions are always welcome, and we love hearing about the books and ideas that matter to our school community.

We look forward to welcoming you to the library!
